NEW ORLEANS — Laura K. Gasiorowski of Robert G. Stahl Esq. Criminal Defense Lawyers again co-chaired the Pre-Trial Motion Section for the Tulane University School of Law at the nationally known law school’s third annual, “Criminal Litigation Boot Camp” in January 2014.

“Pre-Trial Motion Practice” was presented with Prof. Herbert V. Larson, Jr., Executive Director of the Law School’s International Legal Programs and Executive Director of Graduate Legal Programs. Â Materials authored by Ms. Gasiorowski and Professor Larson again served as resources for the sessions.

Now in it’s third year, the cutting-edge, “Criminal Boot Camp” program attracted lawyers from around the country to participate as instructors.

During the weeklong Winter Intercession program Tulane law students decided to participate as defense attorneys or prosecutors. Law students have enthusiastically reviewed the program, which helped the Tulane University School of Law win national recognition by National Jurist Magazine as one of America’s 20 most innovative law schools.

According to the law school, the boot camp course is designed, …”to teach students the fundamental skills necessary for pretrial advocacy in criminal litigation.” It concentrates on case preparation and specific subjects include:  interviewing, counseling, drafting of legal documents and argument of pretrial motions. The course€™s explicit focus on pretrial practice reflects the availability of further education in criminal trial skills through Tulane’s Trial Advocacy program, Tulane’s Criminal Law Clinic, and Tulane’s supervised externships at public defender€™ and prosecutor€™ offices.

Ms. Gasiorowski earned her J.D. degree, cum laude, from the Tulane University School of Law in 1994.
